How Age Well Does It Differently

Personal care is intimate. It requires trust, dignity, and consistency. We match each client with caregivers who are not only skilled, but who are right for that individual — in temperament, communication style, and patience. Every care plan documents exactly how your loved one prefers to be supported, so each visit maintains the same high standard.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be home while the caregiver is there?

Not at all. Our caregivers are trained, background-checked professionals. Many families use our services so they can work, run errands, or simply rest while knowing their loved one is in good hands.

How many hours of personal care do most clients need?

It varies widely. Some clients need 2–3 hours in the morning for a daily routine. Others need 4–8 hours of more comprehensive daily support. We'll help you figure out the right structure.

Can you coordinate with home health nurses or physical therapists?

Yes. We work alongside home health agencies, physical therapists, and other providers as part of a coordinated care team. Communication between all parties is something we actively support.

Can I request a male or female caregiver?

Absolutely. Personal care is intimate, and we take comfort and dignity seriously. When you share your preference during our intake conversation, we'll match accordingly. We'll never assign a caregiver without first discussing fit.

What exactly is included in "activities of daily living"?

ADLs include bathing, showering, grooming, oral hygiene, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance — things like transferring from bed to chair or walking safely through the home. We also help with meal preparation, light housekeeping tied to the care routine, and medication reminders as part of a comprehensive daily visit.

Does Medicare or insurance cover personal care?

Medicare does not typically cover non-medical home care such as personal care or ADL assistance. Some long-term care insurance policies do cover these services. We're happy to help you review your policy and understand your options. Private pay is the most common funding source for the families we serve.

What happens if my loved one's care needs increase over time?

We reassess care plans regularly and adjust as needs evolve. If personal care needs grow into something more comprehensive — such as 24-hour care or specialized dementia support — we can expand the care plan without disrupting the caregiver relationship you've already built. Continuity is at the center of everything we do.

"Our caregiver has been coming every morning for three months. My mother actually looks forward to seeing her. The routine has restored her sense of dignity and made our mornings peaceful instead of stressful."
